Carly was born September 6, 1954 in Austin, Texas. She earned Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy and medieval history at Stanford University. Over the next decade, she really worked hard, and through her sheer dedication towards her job, she rose through the ranks at AT&T. She was the first female to become the head of entire North American Sales.
